Yay!

I know it's lame, but my teenage self is super excited for Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr., who are expecting their first child this fall, according to People. Congrats!

I always knew this bitch was crazy...

I love, love, love "Project Runway" but totally loathed Kenley from last season. ((I was stoked when calm Leanne won)) She was psychotic, she was strange, she was completely convinced that she was a nice, normal person. But I knew she had crazy eyes and that she was a little off.

Turns out, I was right.

Kenley was arrested for...get this...hitting her SLEEPING ex-fiance in the face with a laptop...this was after she tried attacking him with a cat, water, and a few apples.

What the hell.

Good riddance.

((Here's to hoping Adam Lambert gets the boot of "Idol." COULD HE BE ANY MORE FAKE. I'm totally a Danny Gokey fan.))

She's 18......He's 37

Mr. David Walliams, whom I love is dating an 18 year old child. Maybe it's just that I am jealous but I seem to think she's after his moo-lah. I mean what 18 year old do you know would go for an 37 year old dude. When I was 18, guys in their late 20's was considered old. I don't see this relationship lasting very long. I give 6 months max.

Dear Chris Brown,

you are a sorry little shit. I honestly can not understand why men think they can beat the shit out of women to get a point across. This should never happen. Women should not be terrified of the person they think they love. A person should not be treated as a punching bag.

Maybe I am taking this a little personal. I've had to deal with domestic abuse and I for one can tell you it's the furthest thing from a picnic in the park. I know that once it happens, it usually happens again and deep down you are always dueling between "should i get out" and "he'll get better, he promised it'll never happen again."
It never gets better until you get out. I had to grow up with it for 20 years.
I hope for the best for Rihanna and I think she's going to be stronger than ever. I hope that she gives a voice to those women and children who are stuck and think that they are the only ones. Because you're not and there is always a way out.

Lily Allen is FANTASTIC

Can we please discuss how incredible Lily Allen's new CD "It's Not Me, It's You" is?

I have a certain fondness of celebrity train wrecks...which is certainly something that I absolutely adore about Lily Allen. She's somewhat cleaned up her act lately, cutting back on a lot of the drinking and such...but she's still so outlandish and outspoken and I absolutely love that.

The media attacks her weight? She fights back telling them exactly what she thinks. They paste photos of her across tabloid of herself making a mess of things. She blasts back the next day. She's young. Back off. She's fucking Lily Allen.

Plus...I totally love this clip off YouTube:

And I love the fact that she's so comfortable in her own skin that at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is how SHE feels about her actions. She doesn't care what people think about her. She's something worth aspiring to in this day and age.

Plus, she had pink hair for awhile...and I've always wanted pink hair.

Anyway...here's her video for the "The Fear" off her new album. I completely love it's "Alice in Wonderland" type feel. Enjoy!

The love of my life is engaged...

And I'm absolutely thrilled for him.

According to People.com (and her publicist), Ryan Adams and Mandy Moore are engaged.

Usually, I see "celebrity" couples and scratch my head wondering how most couples hooked up. I was a huge Brad-Jen supporter...so the whole Brad-Angelina thing still upsets me (she's a whore and he's an asshole...together they're going to adopt every starving orphan blah blah blah). Don't even get me started on Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz (Open Letter to the Douche Bag, anyone?).

But Ryan and Mandy makes sense to me. They work together.

And thank God that I actually like this union.

I can't listen to Fall Out Boy anymore...knowing Pete Wentz's new lyrics are about Ashlee and how famous they are.

Knowing Ryan's songs may or may not be about Mandy doesn't make me nauseous.

Good God, I hope the two of them work out. God knows Adams finally deserves some happiness. He's quit the drugs...the alcohol...and the smoking. It's time that his sober life came full circle so that he can be truly content with how far he's come with his life/music/writing/art.

Ryan Adams is love...and I'm thrilled that he's finally found a good one. :)

Greek god becomes mortal

I truly do feel sorry for Phelps. Not just because he got caught...but because he probably has a list of sucky ass friends who would rather make a quick buck than give a shit about protecting his privacy. and now he has to apologize because he smoked a little pot. Let me tell you people EVERYONE does it or has tried it at least once. Give the guy a break.

I love, love, love The Sounds

For the past three years, one of my absolute favorite bands has been The Sounds. I just happened across their music...and the rest has been history. I love how fun it sounds. I love Maja Ivarsson's voice and ridiculous style. And I love the fact that Bam Margera loves them.

So without further ado, here's The Sound's video for "Painted By Numbers." Enjoy. :)

I feel like shopping...

At Topshop.

With Mari.
But since I'm not near a Topshop and I'm definately not near Mari, I'll have to do my window shopping from afar behind a computer screen....alone.
So let's go!

I love, love, love this dress. From the color to the draping, it's a great dressy, but still kind of casual dress. It reminds me a lot of something that Rami would have done in Season 4 of Project Runway. As sick of him as I got...and as much as I loved Christian, this dress is fierce. The draping thing works. Not to mention 35 pounds really isn't bad for a cute dress like this.

Here's another super cute draped dress. Usually, I hate purple, but this one is close enough to blue, that I honestly like it...and only 38 pounds.

Oh and just to note it...the whole draping thing that is FINALLY catching on in the States was going on way back when Mari and I were studying in London. I bought this super cute top on clearance at Urban Outfitters in London that I still wear to this day. It's black, simple and draped, but super cute.
...Wellies are finally catching on over here too. That took another...oh...two years. And those shirts with the huge letters saying ironic things on them that were a hit last year? Totally a hit in London a year before. (Catching my trend here?)

More draping. I heart everything about this top. From the draping to the detail in the stitching to the chain straps. Cute, cute, cute...and only 28 pounds!

I love, love, love this wrap top. Not only is it only 20 pounds, it's one of my favorite shades of blue. This would be super cute with a skirt to wear to work or out to lunch.

I love the whole trench coat revival. And at 75 pounds, this one is a fresh take on an awesome style of coat. Simple and clean. It doesn't have some obnoxious pattern or disgusting color to off set an entire outfit.

Um. I'm pretty sure that if you could fall in love with a pair of shoes, this would be the pair that I would fall in love with. I love super cute heels. I also love red shoes. At 55 pounds, they'd be a pay day splurge...but totally worth it, rite?
They also have these in white. And they're just as cute...maybe not fall in love cute, but damn close.

So after my online massive window shopping, I've saved myself 251 pounds...which is over 500 dollars. So maybe shopping online like this is a good idea.
Unless I find myself in London editing some glossy celebrity magazine.
Or married to a pretty British boy who looks like Christian Bale...
But until then, I've got my window shopping.
Thank God.

Allow me to introduce you to...

Coupling

Mari's all in the know-how about British television shows and movies...and while my tastes tend to stick to darker American shows ('Nip/Tuck' and 'Dexter' and 'CSI' {RIP GRISSOM}), I am absolutely, positively one hundred percent in love with 'Coupling.'

The show, which has been called a British version of friends can be compared to the hit US comedy...but takes it eight steps further with it's over the top raunchy comedy. A series about sex and six friends, it's amazing.

My favorite character, by far, is Jeff. When he left the show after the 3rd season, it wasn't the same. So instead, I have my favorite clips on YouTube. Like the one below.

I also like the one where he talks about keeping a bucket full of women's ears.

Some more favorite clips. Enjoy...and if you like it, be sure to watch it online!!!...not that anyone really does that...bad kids...

((Okay, so I'm guilty of it too.))

Skins

I would like to introduce you to Skins. This show is simply amazing. It follows the lives of teenagers in Bristol and it covers everything from drugs to parties to sex to exams. Right now the third series is about to start but if you haven't seen the first two series i recommend watching them first.
Need further convincing here's the preview trailer for the first series.

a kick ass introduction from Mari

so my first post on the new blog....wow this is a lot of pressure.

I'm going to start with an introduction......

So this is me. Nice pic right! ha i get way too excited about positively everything. I tell ridiculous stories about the south and I have this weirdly huge crush on Daniel Craig. Who i know is like 40 but damn i will one day kidnap his hot ass. I also have a huge crush on my politics teacher. One day he will leave his wife and I will so be there. I think fruit roll ups are the best invention of all time - screw the light bulb. I grew up in the south.... but i hate living there. I will one day have a permanent residence in Europe - preferably London. So this is the gist. if you decide to keep reading you'll get the idea of who i am.

This is julie. she is one of my most favorite people in the world. I met julie when i was in London and redheaded. the first time i saw her she was crying. I can't make fun... hell i was crying about an hour later. I love her dark sense of humor and her Helen Keller jokes. (I still think the abortion song should be sung and put on YouTube!!!) She's the all time best drinking buddy, even though we usually blackout halfway through the night. She shares my love of Bam and totally understands what Dusan Mandic means. She's the only one I'll share my music list with. She's my Yankee friend and She's the coolest person I know.

This is me and Julie. we tend to make weird faces at cameras.

So for the love of Alfred sit back and relax because you are about tho witness the awesomeness of awesomeness in the blog world. This is going to be Legend...wait for it...ary!
